Allagash White

Allagash’s take on a Belgian wheat beer has become a craft brew staple over the years, and you’ll be able to find this brew at many beer bars and stores across the city (and country for that matter). Allagash White has the wonderful lemon and wheat taste you’d expect from a wheat beer, along with an added blend of spices that give this beer some extra character. This one’s a great choice for almost any occasion.

Fisherman’s Brew

This red lager out of Gloucester, Mass is a nicely balanced beer – plenty of malts matched by a hoppy finish. If you’re a fan of Yuengling, you’ll find the Fisherman’s Brew equally approachable. Feel free to knock back a couple on a hot day.

This is probably one of the more complex brown ales we’ve tried, and it’s got the perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness. We also enjoyed the Brownstone’s relatively low ABV, which should allow for plenty of time to experience all this beer has to offer.

Bar: The Gutter, Brooklyn, NY

The Gutter opened in 2007 and has quickly become a neighborhood favorite for great beer and bowling. The bar’s rustic feel and authentic beer signage pay homage to the storied history of both bowling and Brooklyn.
The Gutter’s beer selection is vast and ever-changing, so be sure to check back frequently to try out some newer or seasonal brews. The Gutter has beers from all over, but the bar likes to focus on local and regional beer, and it regularly features these on tap and in bottle.
